Rispoli family plumbing in NYC since 1968
The Rispoli family has been doing plumbing work in New York City since 1968. Michael Rispoli grew up in that trade — job sites, code books, and a standard that licensed work gets done properly — and has spent his working life in it.
In 2002 he earned his Master Plumber license and founded Austin Plumbing & Heating — “Austin” is his middle name — and built the firm around his own bar for the work.
That bar has never moved: masters of the craft, not a cut-rate shop. Commercial or residential, the job gets done right the first time — code-compliant from the start, documented for whoever reviews it next, and built to pass inspection without a callback. We know the NYC Plumbing Code like the back of our hand because compliance is not a service we bolt on; it is how we do every job.

Austin Plumbing & Heating holds New York State Master Plumber license #1879. That license allows us to file DOB permits, pull gas line work permits, supervise boiler installations, and appear in DOB records as the plumber of record on a job.
For compliance work such as DOB plumbing violation removal, after-the-fact permit filings, and gas restoration, the master plumber license is not a credential on a business card. It is the legal prerequisite to do the work. We do not subcontract that responsibility or hand it to a journeyman. The master plumber is on the job.
Beyond the license, what distinguishes Austin is familiarity with the regulatory environment: understanding DOB Plumbing Code, knowing how HPD violation documentation works, knowing what a proof-of-correction submission needs to include to get accepted, and knowing when a project requires an expediter and when it does not.

For projects that require more, such as PE stamps, expediter coordination, or architect sign-offs, we have professional relationships we draw on.
